About Seidel Double Shot Pull-Up Cowhide Leather
Seidel Double Shot Pull-Up Cowhide is a premium full grain leather, expertly tanned in Milwaukee, Wisconsin by one of the last remaining heritage tanneries in the United States. With over 75 years of craftsmanship behind every hide, Seidel delivers a leather that combines durability with refined character.
Double Shot Pull-Up Leather is chrome tanned, but retains many of the properties of vegetable tanned leather, featuring a premium aniline finish, a smooth texture, and a rich, hot-stuffed pull-up effect created through a specialized wax infusion process. The result is a dynamic, color-shifting patina that reveals depth and contrast when the leather is bent or folded, giving each project a distinctive, high-end look.
Offered in sides averaging 16–24 square feet and a versatile 5–5.5 oz (2–2.2 mm) weight, Double Shot Pull-Up Cowhide Leather has a medium temper with a buttery hand and balanced structure—supple enough for ease of use, yet firm enough to hold shape. The clean central cutting area is ideal for larger builds, while natural character markings near the belly add depth and visual interest.

Hide sizes may vary. Leather square footage isn’t measured as a true length-by-width area — it’s based on the hide’s surface area before finishing or shrinkage. Tanneries calculate footage from the raw hide stage and stamp the size on the flesh (back) side of the hide. We use the measurements provided by the tannery, but some variation in actual size is normal.
